There is something of an old tea plantation about Majgaon, with its traditional Gurung houses scattered around an immaculately kept garden on the edge of the village.

The food is hearty and good, the staff unfailingly warm, and after dinner the guides tend to produce musical instruments and things get rather merry. Sunset views of Fishtail Mountain from here are particularly lovely, and those with sore legs will be pleased to know that massages are readily available.

What we love

Every groundbreaking innovation, whether meticulously engineered or born from spontaneous creativity, contains stories waiting to be discovered.

What our travellers say

We went to Sri Lanka as a three-generation family of three. The superb trip was organised by Samanthie and the team and it's difficult to see how it could have been bettered.
