Rambagh Palace

Back to Accommodation Add to favourites

A former hunting lodge and royal residence, this spectacularly palatial property is set among 47 sprawling acres, a 15-minute drive from Jaipur’s city centre and its key attractions.

Not only is the decor suitably opulent, with suites adorned with the most incredible art and fabrics, but the service is typical Taj as well. Expect marble latticework, mughal gardens, and detailed wallpapers. Peacocks wander round the central courtyard, where you’ll also find a manicured croquet lawn. Other facilities include four fine-dining restaurants, a bar, an indulgent wellness centre, and multiple pools. Rambagh palace is undeniably a hotel like no other. This elegant maximalist hotel is something quite special.

What we love

  • Jam packed with style and character, from the high ceilings and antique furniture to opulent soft furnishings and manicured Mughal gardens
  • The palace butlers offer attentive service from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave
  • Enjoy pre-dinner cocktails at Steam, a unique lounge bar in a lovingly restored train car
  • Indulge in traditional Indian therapies at J Wellness Circle
  • Book a private dinner in the gardens; it’s the perfect spot for a romantic evening

You’ll have to drive a little distance to some of Jaipur’s main attractions like Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort, but we think the expansive gardens are worth being a little further away
The pomp and decor isn’t for everyone. If you like very simple low key hotels, this might not be for you

Family and kids are very welcome. While it’s not designed specifically with families in mind, extra beds can be provided for children and the staff are happy to arrange babysitters on request.

The Taj hotel group launched Paathya, a sustainability programme that strives to eliminate single use plastics and recycle waste water. They also support a number of community and environmental projects.

Rambagh Palace is located on Bhawani Singh Rd to the south of Jaipur’s city centre and a 15-minute drive from Hawa Mahal.
