Accessing the hotel involves a short walk, through bustling and narrow lanes, with no direct car access.
Rooms here are not as opulent, spacious or quiet as those in luxury hotels on the outer edges of the city as it is a heritage building tucked within the heart of the old city.
As this haveli sits so centrally, you can hear street noise from some rooms, be sure to request an upper-floor, courtyard-facing room if this will bother you.
Being a heritage property, there is no pool, fitness centre or spa available on-site
The hotel welcomes families, and the larger Shahjahan Suites can accommodate up to four people comfortably. There are no specific amenities for younger guests or on-site pools or playgrounds, but the hotel is a wealth of local traditions and a true insight into authentic India with the major sights right on the doorstep.
The hotel’s conservation prevented the loss of this important, architecturally significant building, prioritising heritage appreciation within tourism. The haveli hires staff from the local community and ensures guides and performers are local artisans and historians.
Nestled amid the narrow alleyways, directly behind Jama Masjid, the hotel is right in the heart of the vibrant Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi offering unparalleled immersion into the Delhi street scene. It’s an easy walk through the bustling spice markets to all the major sights of the old city.
