Tour of Fort and Jas Vilas Museum

Ascend to one of India's most formidable fortresses, where sandstone walls stretch two miles and rise 35 feet above carved Jain statues embedded in living rock.

Within these battlements, the 15th-century Man Singh Palace reveals chambers built for Queen Mriganayani, complete with music halls and underground dungeons. The 8th-century Suraj Kund and Gujari Mahal archaeological museum house treasures including the exquisite Shalbhanjika goddess sculpture. At Jai Vilas Palace, 35 rooms display royal excess, including Durbar Hall chandeliers and an ingenious silver train that once served dinner guests on miniature tracks.

What our travellers say

If Red Dot ever ceased to exist and I wanted to return to Sri Lanka I would probably go somewhere else instead. They were, in every way shape and form, impeccable. From Samanthie who created the itinerary to Wicky who drove us here, there and everywhere I cannot imagine anybody doing it better. Impeccable. I need say no more except it doesn’t get any better.
